Newly released video shows ICE officials detaining an Iranian-born father as he is driving his child to daycare in Beaverton, Oregon. ICE says Mahdi Khanbabazadeh overstayed his visa – but his family says he is married to a U.S. citizen, passed his green card interview months ago and was legally adjusting his status.
In a video provided to CBS News by the family's lawyers, Khanbabazadeh is seen telling officials he has a baby in the car and ICE officials breaking his window.
An ICE spokesperson told CBS News officials tried to arrest Khanbabazadeh during a traffic stop. At some point, he asked if he could first drop his child off at daycare and officers allowed him to pull into the parking lot. They say there, he resisted arrest. @Vladimir Duthiers
