In honor of #DisabilityPrideMonth, we’re sharing powerful stories all through July of animals at The Gentle Barn who have lived with disabilities and inspired us with their strength and joy 💚 Dudley was just a young cow when he lost his back foot after twine wrapped around his ankle and he received no care. A friend of the owner reached out to us, and we knew we had to help him. Dudley spent months in the hospital undergoing multiple surgeries, recovery, specialized treatment, therapy, and learning to walk with his custom prosthesis. When he was ready, Dudley came home to The Gentle Barn Tennessee, where he truly came to life! He played, jumped, zoomed around the barnyard! Dudley proved that a disability didn’t define him. It never limited his joy, his heart, or his ability to connect. Because he was given a chance, Dudley got to show the world what cows are really like when treated with kindness: affectionate, intelligent, playful, and full of life.⁠ He lived a beautiful life and inspired people all around the world.
