I didnt like the prices I saw when researching glass shower panels and doors… so I decided to build one myself!

Talk about a budget friendly upgrade!!

2 year followup! I was having trouble with wind driven rain coming in these doors as well as them occasionally freezing to the floor in winter • I ordered these seals off Amazon and I’m extremely happy with how they have held up • The big thing is the prep, I used this Makita grinder to give the adhesive a good surface to stick too @Makita Tools USA @Makita Canada Inc. . . . #tools #garage #construction #makitatools

Comment “pavers” and I’ll send you everything I used to pave our patio over concrete & over the ground! When I first did these paver projects and updated our patio, I had an outdoor kitchen in mind… somewhere we could host gatherings and entertain all summer long. Fast forward to two years later and I’m extending my patio once again to BUILD MY DREAM OUTDOOR KITCHEN! Stay tuned to see how it all comes together! #paver #paverpatio #patiodesign #outdoorkitchen #outdoorproject #backyarddesign @Lowe’s

Build your own SECTIONAL & UMBRELLA STAND! Comment the word “sectional” and I’ll send my full tutorial straight to your inbox including cut lists, materials needed, and a cushion link (make sure you’re following to receive it). We use our patio so much more because of this sectional I built in one weekend, and because of that we needed some SHADE! Umbrella Stand Instructions… So I used pressure treated wood to build a box (I’d recommend pressure treated 2x4s!). I screwed these together using exterior wood screws then covered it in cement board. I added 2” swivel castor wheels to the bottom along with drainage holes. Then I filled it with 50lbs of pea gravel to weigh it down and keep the umbrella upright. I used thinset and tile rated for outdoor use to cover it — make your box work for the size of tile you plan to use so you don’t have to cut much! I used a 2” diamond blade hole saw to drill a hole in the top for my umbrella, then grouted with deep ocean mapei grout! These projects just took me 2 days each! And how fun that this stand will double as a side table and can easily be moved around to wherever we need shade! Let me know what you think and if you’ll give one of these a try this summer! #patiofurniture #patiodesign #diypatio #outdoorfurnitureideas #umbrellastand #weekendproject #outdoorliving #budgetfriendlydiy

EASY TRASH CAN SCREEN — because when you work this hard on curb appeal, the trash just can’t be seen from the street 😆 I started by cutting down 3 4x4 posts to 62”, 52”, and 52”. Then I measured and cut my vinyl lattice — I bought 2 panels and cut them to 60”x44.5” & 65”x48”. For a front with one side. I wanted the front to have a curve, so I sketched one and used a jigsaw to cut it out so the lower end would be even with the side. I used lattice edge caps around all the edges (mitered with a miter saw) and used construction adhesive to secure them. Then I cut down 2 pvc 1x2s into 4 48” boards. I screwed these to the posts and set my lattice screens on top. I screwed them in from the front into the 1x2 supports with 2” exterior multipurpose screws. I used a heat gun and iron to bend a piece of 1.5” vinyl lattice trim for my top curve — can’t believe that worked! I set the screens in place and connected them, then used wooden stakes to secure them. I hit them into the ground and screwed them to the posts. I also glued some pvc trim to the front to cover the screws. I painted mine Yarn by Magnolia — a greige color that I thought would add a little warmth without being too different from the brick! Then added copper post caps to tie in with our gutters and lanterns. And the goal is for this star jasmine to find its way to the lattice and trellis eventually 🤞 What do you think?? I love the character it adds. And it would be an easy weekend build! Let me know if you give it a try! #privacyscreen #curbappeal #exteriorhome #homehacks #homeupgrades #hgtvmagazine #curbappealgoals #diyonabudget #outdoordiyproject

DIY “Antique” Doors! Because actual antique doors are just not in the budget ✨ I have always dreamed of antique doors in the playroom, but the ones I saw were anywhere from $1,400 - $3,500+. NOPE. Not for a playroom. So I built my own for a fraction of the cost. I built frames out of 1x2s and added in 1x4s, 1x6s, and 1x12s to build out the center. Then I added an obnoxious amount of trim and wood appliqués. This is where you can really make it your own. I used screen trim to make window grids and added little diamonds in the center. I painted them Yarn by Magnolia to start, then mixed Aged Oak & Simply White Minwax Gel Stains and used a stiff brush to give the doors a wood like finish. I was going to go over them in blue but I decided to live with this color for a while first because I’m kind of loving it! I used a clear corrugated sheet to be my reeded glass because it won’t break in a playroom setting 💁‍♀️ and I loooove them! Still need to add some hardware, but what do you think?? #diydoor #pocketdoor #antiquedoors #antiquedoor #hgtvmagazine #lookforless #gelstain #woodfinish #diyonabudget #doorupgrade #doorinspiration

DIY Large Scale Textured Art using only what I had on hand! And not only was it seriously therapeutic and fun, but I love it! I started with a sheet of 48”x36” 3/4” plywood. I primed it then painted with 2 coats of Pure White by Sherwin Williams. Once dry, I used joint compound and a plastic spoon to add texture. Thicker on the bottom, lighter on the top, keeping an oceanscape in mind. I added some peaks in the “waves” and kept the “clouds” light and whispy. I also went thicker on the bottom of the art for some depth. I let that dry overnight, then painted everything Pure White by SW again. Before it dried completely, I started layering in my blues just using paint brushes and blending. Ocean is Bright Future by Magnolia. Then I went back through with Display by Magnolia and Pure White to highlight some areas. The sky is Display by Magnolia. When I had the colors like I wanted them, I painted some birds and used Gold Leaf Rub n Buff to add some warmth to the clouds and top of the ocean. The frame is 1x2 pine, stained with Dark Walnut then whitewashed with a 1:1 ratio of white paint and water. I just nailed it into the plywood canvas! I’m NOT an artist by any means, and art is subjective! But I had so much fun making this free-to-me art! And I hope it inspires you to try your hand at a unique piece of your own! #diyart #texturedart #hgtvmagazine #oceanscape #diyartwork #guestbathroom #weekendproject #diyonabudget #easydiyprojects

I installed 2 types of easy install flooring this week to elevate this room. OH, and added a quick ceiling feature because it felt left out ✨ Flooring 1: @HEWN m Flooring - this is designed to go directly over a concrete subfloor. It’s loose lay flooring — you just use a vinyl tape around the perimeter of the room and lay the rest like a puzzle. SO fast it just took me 1 day to do this room. Flooring 2: Floor Pops + Chris Loves Julia Peel & Stick Tiles and OH MY GOSH I don’t know if my expectations were just super low or what, but this was so easy to cut and install. The adhesive is so strong & they look so pretty! Budget & beginner friendly. Ceiling: I added frame mounding around the room and painted it Display by Magnolia in satin (lightened 50%). It’s one of those colors that shouldn’t work with this wallpaper yet somehow it does and pulls the whole room together! This is one of my bolder rooms, and it’s also one of my favorites! One week of updates and it feels SO elevated now! What do you think? #flooringdesign #flooringinstallation #flooring #guestroom #basementrenovation #hgtv #hgtvmagazine

so I started the week thinking I was going to add coffered ceilings in this basement living space… But no one’s surprised with what we came up with — other than maybe the paint colors! I realized I needed to update my plan to accommodate the wall trim and lighting. So I screwed 1x6 pine support boards into the ceiling joists and built 3 sided beams out of 1x6 primed pine. I nailed and glued these together. The beams slipped right over the supports, and I nailed them in before installing a simple crown moulding! That would have been enough… but I decided I also needed frame moulding in each rectangle for a tie in to the wall! This inspired me to paint the beams and trim Pure White by Sherwin Williams in satin with Bright Future by Magnolia in flat inside the rectangles for a little depth and I THINK I LOVE IT! What do you think — was it the right call? #hgtvmagazine #basementrenovation #basementremodel #ceilingdesign #ceilinginstallation #beams #farmhouseish #diyonabudget

I’ll be installing Palisade PVC wall tiles in this shower surround… once I put it back together. No grout or mortar needed to install these PVC tiles! I have limited time to complete this project at our rental home before our new tenants move in. Sharing the full process on IG stories. #diydecorstore #pvcwallpanels #showersurround #bathroomdesign #bathroomrenovation #bathroomdemo #rentalproperty
