Anxiety and panic attacks are not always obvious. Someone may be experiencing symptoms of panic internally, while appearing calm and collected externally. Kindness and understanding can go a long way for someone struggling 💛 For t00ls to work through anxiety and panic, sea bī0

·7-4Warning massive paragraph: it doesn’t feel like a normal panic attack, not the ones I’m used to anyway, but I cannot sleep and I cannot take deep breaths like something is blocking it, if I do get to sleep I sleep for 10 minutes at a time and I have continuous nightmares and I overheat, I used to have really bad anxiety it got to the point where I couldn’t talk to anyone or leave the house and when I had anything to do that involved other people knowing I would have a panic attack and the panic attacks I’m used to is like I just ran a marathon that type of breathing and heart beat and dizzy and sad and overwhelmed, it was my first diagnosis but when I got my first job it completely disappeared and I went back to the really loud hyperactive will talk to anyone self, then I lost that job, then another one and now I’m living off £300 from the government on top of all my mental health issues i have epilepsy too which I could 💀 any minute from and will have to take medication for the rest of my life which will never fail to make you extremely tired no matter how long you’ve been taking it, so I know why I could be having a panic attack but I don’t know how to stop one that feels like this and lasts like 15 hours. Sh!t thing is I know it would go if I could just have another job but I have applied to 76 jobs on indeed and emailed like 30 different places all of which I’m more than qualified to do and I’m still stuck, I used to sell my art i did realism portraits for people and tattoo designs but I honestly don’t have the time or effort to even look at the account I used to use to sell it on, I haven’t done art in probably 2-3 years, maybe one day when I have some of the things back that made me feel worthy I will have the desire to continue selling my art but for now it’s job searching and cleaning. #bpd #borderline #eupd #anxietydisorder #panicattack #sleep #insomnia #breathe #mentalhealth #fyp #foryu #f #y #p

·2023-3-312 important things to keep in mind: 1. ALL OCD “themes” can bring up feelings of shame - not just the ones listed above. These carry a lot of shame due to their taboo nature and strong value - misalignment (like all intrusive thoughts, they’re egodystonic). Shame is one of the ways that OCD holds its power over us. 2. Your thoughts are meaningless! The thoughts you have or don’t have mean nothing about they type of person you are or what you value. Your OCD can certainly make it FEEL like these thoughts are significant, but that is a lie. You are not the content of your thoughts. Acceptance & commitment therapy and exposure response prevention therapy are highly effective when it comes to helping you break free from OCD. If you’ve ever felt this way … you are not alone in your thoughts and they don’t have to hold power over you forever! #ocdproblems #ocdawareness #pocd #rocd #moralocd #erptherapy

·2024-11-29Using an ice pack can be a surprisingly effective method for managing a panic attack! Holding it against your skin, particularly on the neck, face, or wrists, can activate the body’s ‘dive reflex,’ which helps trigger a natural calming response. This sudden chill can slow down the heart rate, constrict dilated blood vessels, and encourage deeper breathing, which may reduce the intensity of panic symptoms. #panicattack #lifehacks #anxietyattack #homeremedies

·2024-4-18My animals and d€@th are two of the biggest areas my OCD latches on to. Experiencing the two together has been nearly unbearable. OCD can be such a disorienting experience. One minute I’m bawling thinking about how much I love and miss my best friend, the next I’m wondering if I’m faking it all. Panicking over whether I ever loved him at all. What if I’m just pretending to be sad? What if I don’t even care that he’s gone? What if I’m secretly happy trying to trick people into thinking I’m sad? While this may seem ridiculous to some, these are the exact types of “narratives” that OCD comes up with. It’s the “doubting disorder” because it can leave you feeling uncertain about the things you knew for sure just a minute ago. It can feel like you’re a stranger in your own mind and body. For example: You can know you love your partner but wonder if *maybe* deep down you’re not really in love with them. You can know you would protect your child with your life but fear one day you might suddenly become a p€d0. You can know you are a kind and honest person but worry you’ll snap and pünch someone one day out of the blue. On top of grief, loss, or hardship, OCD itself can be a traumatic experience. If you find yourself in a similar space I want to remind you that your thoughts and feelings aren’t always facts. Do your best to lean toward your values rather than your doubts and take it one day at a time. You can trust yourself to know who you are, what you feel, and what you value. You are not alone and support to work through it is available ❤️ #ocd #ocdawareness #pureocd #pureo #petloss #griefandocd #griefjourney

·2024-7-9Dealing with a Panic Attack at School: PROVEN STRATEGIES THAT WORK: ❕❕❕📝❕❕❕📝🤍❕❕📝❕❕(please mute to reach, not pause- it really helps me out and its so simple for ya’ll ily!) 1. Step 1: Identify and Empathize🤍 You need to know what you’re feeling before you can solve it. So as soon as you start to feel the first spike of panic, try not to fight it. 💪It’s okay to feel panicky. 👌It’s super common. It’s uncomfortable, but it’s not impossible to deal with. Remember, whatever you’re feeling, it’s ok. 2. Try focusing on slowing your breath. 😮💨Often, people with panic attacks feel like they have a hard time catching their breath. So, just focus on slowly breathing out through your mouth. ❕❕❕🧠❕❕🧠❕❕🧠😮💨😮💨 count the exhales and count the inhales- try and lengthen them! 3. To ground further, ask to go to the nurse or restroom…. 👩⚕️ if you’re in the restroom, splash some water 💦 on your face and grab some from the drinking fountain. 🚿 ➖Really notice how the cool water feels on your face and down your throat. Connecting with those physical experiences will help to calm your body even further. 4. You can use the 5 Senses Scavenger Hunt wherever you are. Name one thing that you see, 👁 one thing that you hear, 👂 one thing that you smell, 👃 one thing that you can physically touch, 🤏and check in with how your mouth tastes. 🫦This helps bring you back into your body and the moment. 5. TELL YOURSELF YOUVE GOT THIS! ENCOURAGE YOURSELF!!! 🫁🫀🧠🫵 #anxietyattacks #anxiety #anxietytips #therapy #mentalhealth Written by: Kelsey Torgerson Dunn HER BOOK: “When anxiety makes you angry” I was given permission to use the video in beginning directly from the user
