Replying to @Buzyz As a dry cleaner, I recommend front loading machines. That's because they're just about always going to provide a better clean than top loaders! Us professional cleaners NEVER use top loading machines because of the decreased amount of mechanical action (rubbing) which is probably the most important component of cleaning clothing. Front loaders take advantage of gravity which increases mechanical action; more rubbing equals more cleaning power. The only advantage I see with top loaders is the ability to run a tub soak and if you find it difficult to load and unload a front loader. Both have the same amount of space, but it seems like front loaders are actually a touch bigger based on some quick research.
