I held onto the car door, not wanting to let go. I just needed a moment. Just to say goodbye. Just to tell him I love him. Through tears, I heard him say, “It’s okay. I love you. Take care of yourself and the family.” Then they drove away with him. My father is not a criminal. He is a kind, honest, and hardworking man who has spent years dedicating himself to his family. He works tirelessly to support us his wife, his three children, and the baby we’re expecting soon. He is our provider, our protector, our home. We are devastated, scared, and unsure of what to do next. We need legal support immediately, but we cannot do this alone.
