Here's something truly exceptional for all of you. South Africa's leading choir has performed a rendition of "This Town" featuring Ladysmith Black Mambazo. It's an incredibly humbling experience to hear your own songs reimagined. Witnessing these powerful lyrics, which echo the struggles and aspirations for unity, being interpreted in such a profound way is deeply moving.
One aspect that always stands out to me is the most captivating part of the song. It occurs when Ladysmith Black Mombazo sings a counter melody during the bridge, beautifully complementing my lyrics. The words they sing carry profound meaning to me:
"Ngisize ngiyasindwa" (help me, I’m burdened)
"Ngethule lomthwalo" (relieve me of this heavy load)
