They need: 1️⃣ Topic & Context – What’s happening? 📌 “Our supplier delivery is delayed, and it’s affecting production.” 2️⃣ Intent – Why you’re telling them, what you want. 📌 “I have options and need your advice on the best one.” 3️⃣ Quick Summary – Set expectations. 📌 “I’ll go over costs, risks, and alternatives.” 4️⃣ Pause – Get a signal 📌 “Does this work now, or should I send a Slack update?” You don’t need to share everything. You need to share what matters. Here’s more examples 👇🏼 HR CORDINATOR 1️⃣ I’ve finished the new onboarding process we talked about last week and I need to share a couple of quick updates 2️⃣ This is so there’s no surprises before the team meeting — I’m looking for you to flag anything you’re not onboard with 3️⃣ The two parts i’ll talk through are X and Y 4️⃣ Is there one you’d prefer I start with? But I’m still so glad I ended up where I did. Not that there was anything particularly wrong about where I was before, but this job is just such a better fit for me and where I’m at in my life. Whether you want better pay, better benefits, a different career path, a better manager, etc., I hope you don’t hold yourself back from that for too long because you deserve it and you can absolutely get it. Don’t be afraid to walk away from a job you’ve outgrown / a job that’s gotten too comfortable / a job that can’t give you what you need.
