Critical thinking exercise: If we did change the system so that the public got a financial return on medical innovations that were partially funded with public dollars, what would that actually look like? Royalties back to the NIH? A public health trust fund? Revenue-sharing tied to drug pricing? And if we did that, how long before the same movements working to undermine trust in public health agencies used it as “proof” that government and pharma are corrupt and colluding for profit?

·6-1Replying to @Sharel Moore you need to be clear about the question. And it’s not when is something a living organism. Our laws have actually been consistent and clear as to when personhood is established. And the implications of establishing it earlier are genuinely terrifying for women. #ivf #ivfjourney #roevwade

·6-12Replying to @ShawnE 1 in 5 Americans are enrolled in Medicaid and 12% rely on SNAP benefits. Millions of those people work full-time and still need SNAP or Medicaid. Not because of personal failure, but because we’ve built an economy that rewards profits over people. This is a policy choice. And it’s directly negatively impacting public health.

·6-27Juneteenth seems like a good day to respond to this. Racism is absolutely a root cause of poor health. Not just historically. Right now. And there is an immense amount of evidence if you’re not choosing to ignore it.

·6-19How to switch your baby’s formula and when is it indicated? #ad You may need to switch your baby’s formula if they are experiencing digestive issues or you’re having trouble finding their usual formula. I recommend looking for infant formula with probiotic L. reuteri. Parents who switched to an infant formula with L. reuteri said their baby was less fussy after the first feed. When preparing your infant formula it is very important to follow the preparation instructions. Infant formula should also not be combined together. Remember to follow the preparation instructions on the label since they can vary from product to product and between infant formula brands. @Good Start Canada 🎥 Curate Collective Media Reference : Czerkies L, et al. ·2024-1-20In today’s media, it’s easy to fall for flashy graphs and bold claims said confidently. It’s vital to remember that correlation doesn’t mean causation. Understanding this protects you from being misled by fear tactics, fake science, and propaganda. 🛑 #medicalmisinformation #nutritionmisinformation #correlationdoesnotequalcausation

·2024-12-17Swapping synthetic dyes for natural dyes in Hershey's candy or Twinkies will not meaningful impact health. Meanwhile so many people will get sicker and literally die from these cuts. You don’t make America healthy by cutting healthcare and nutrition assistance, increasing pollution, and exacerbating income inequality. No matter how many naturally dyed candy options we have.

·7-1If there’s evidence that an ingredient is harmful at the levels people are routinely exposed to, we should absolutely take steps to remove it from the food supply. But that’s not what this is. This isn’t based on toxicology data or safety reviews. It’s a selectively chosen list of ingredients that may or may not be restricted in other countries, while leaving out others that are banned elsewhere but happen to appear in MAHA leaders’ own supplements.
