GINGER SHOTS ✨🍋 Let’s save money AND make immune boosting shots!! These babies are sold at cafes for $7+ PER shot… so let’s spend the money on a bunch of produce to make more than a weeks worth of shots instead. Let’s gooooo !!! Ingredients: 2 oranges 2 lemons 100g fresh ginger (more or less depending on how strong you want it to be) 1/2 tsp ground turmeric 1/8 tsp black pepper 2 cups water * (OR coconut water if you want to add natural sweetness) Optional: 1-2 tbsp liquid sweetener of choice Method: 1. Peel your oranges and lemon and cut into smaller wedges. 2. Wash your ginger well and cut into chunks. 3. Add all of the ingredients into your blender. Pop the lid on and blend on high until smooth. 4. Pour through a sieve and into a large bowl. Use a spoon to help filter the juice through. Alternately you can also strain it through cheesecloth/a nut milk bag instead for a smoother juice. 5. Place the funnel on top of your glasses and carefully pour in the juice. Repeat until you’ve used it all up. Pop the lid on all of them and place into the fridge to chill. Enjoy! 👏 NOTE: They will last in the fridge up to 1 week, but ideally are best consumed within 3-5 days. Detox ginger and lime chicken brothy rice It’s the time of year that I always crave a big bowl of something resetting, and this recipe is just that. full of ginger, chilli, and zingy lime. lots of gut-restoring nourishment but easy on the digestive system. I cook the rice in good chicken bone broth but you can jsut use stock. You will need to serve 2 1 inch piece fresh ginger chopped 2 large spring onion (plus 1 extra) 1/2 red chilli diced 2 garlic cloves 1 green pepper 1 large carrot 200g chestnut mushrooms 2 large handfuls of shredded cavolo nero (or kale or spinach) 120g brown basmati rice 2L chicken stock (I used 1 L bone broth and 1L of chicken stock) 1 tbsp soy sauce 1/2 tsp turmeric 2 limes Fresh coriander and mint 2 chicken breasts In a deep pan, sauce the minced spring onion, chilli, garlic, ginger, carrot, pepper and mushrooms with a little soy sauce and crack of pepper. Cook on a medium heat for 5 mins. Add in the rice, mix well to coat the grains. Pour in the stock and broth, add in the chicken breasts and bring to a gentle simmer. Place a lid on and simmer for 12 minutes until the chicken is cooked through. Remove and allow to rest, continue to simmer with the lid on until the rice is done, season with any extra soy, pepper if needed. Shred the chicken and add back into the pan. Add the juice of 1 lime, 1 finely chopped spring onion, 1 tbsp chopped mint and 2 tbsp chopped coriander. Mix in and serve with extra limes and herbs. #healthyrecipes #healthyliving #EasyRecipes
