How often should I be cleaning ___? Here is the answer to a few of the trickiest and MOST commonly asked q’s! 1. How often should you change your kitchen sponge? 🧽 - Disinfect them every 2-3 days! 🧼 replace them Every 2 weeks! - Bacteria can harbor inside wet, dark and warm areas (sponges) so ensuring it is FULLY dry before putting away! Sanitize in a bowl of bleach (see below), pop it in the dishwasher and run the cycle with your dishes, Or put it in a microwave safe bowl with water, vinegar and dish soap… then microwave it & let it sit! - To disinfect: 1-quart hot water, and 3 tbsp bleach, let sit for 10 min. Squeeze it out & rinse in clean water. Then set aside to air dry. 2. How often should you change your towel? 🧖‍♀️ -towels should be changed every 3 days (making sure to let them dry completely to prevent germs & bacteria from growing on your towel 🤢). 3. How often do you need to clean baseboards? 🪵 - Every month they should be dusted or vacuumed (unless visibly dirty earlier, then do every 2 weeks). This collects allergens, dust & build up on them! But you can SCRUB them every 3 mo! - PRO TIP: Run a dryer sheet across them after to add some static reduction & repel hair and dust for longer!! ✨ 4. How often do you need to clean your toilet? 🚽 - At least once a week, but best to do 2-3x a week - Coli can be found within 6 feet of the toilet. Keep it clean by disinfecting the toilet at least 1x a week. 🧻 5. How often should sheets be washed? 🛏️ -Once a week! -Not washing regularly exposes you to fungi, bacteria, pollen, & dander that are commonly found on sheets & bedding. Plus your sheets hold sweat & skin cells. How to wash microfiber towels! 🧺 These are a staple in any cleaning kit. But if yours are coming out fuzzy, you may be washing them wrong! Wash microfiber by itself. Don't mix with other fabrics or cleaning towels. Only wash microfiber with microfiber! 👏🏼 Add mild laundry detergent but skip the bleach and fabric softener. Both of these erode and clump the fibers overtime, reducing its cleaning power! Wash with cool or mildly warm water on a delicate cycle. Then hang dry or pop in dryer on low to no heat only! ❌And NO dryer sheets either. ❌ This will allow your cloths to last a lot longer and clean better. With NO lint! 🧶 Follow for more cleaning tips! 🤢3 ways to avoid mold and bacteria growth in your shower🤢 1️⃣ I know you like a hot shower, but your bathroom hates it! 🤬 Make sure to turn on the fan in your bathroom while showering and leave on for 30 minutes after too. 💦 If you do not have a fan, open the windows and/or shower with the bathroom door open, if possible! 🪟 ✨Plus, Making sure you squeegee your shower doors and walls, especially after a steamy hot shower to remove moisture that can lead to mold and mildew.💦 2️⃣ Expand your shower curtain fully, to ensure that it dries out and no moisture is trapped in the creeses, causing mold. 😫 Don't forget to wash your shower curtains regularly too! 🧼 3️⃣ Finish off your shower with a mold-killing bathroom spray.
