Transit visas usually applies for a layover of more than 4 hours. Not only London but a lot of countries. But with emirates and Ethiopian airways , it’s all sorted automatically. Askies hle.

I once encountered such when I flew with Air France, luckily the guy working at our airport was kind enough to help me with it, it was during Covid times, I quickly applied for the transit visa and during those hours on plane ✈️my visa was approved when I landed and it was DEMANDED!! 😭😭❤️bless that young man’s heart ❤️

I went to London via Switzerland and realised when I got to Switzerland that I needed a transit visa to just wait for my next flight at the airport. The airport gave me nice accommodation over night

Transit visas take less than a minute to be approved online. Just the fee may be steep for certain countries

This happened to my husband just 2wks ago. Luckily he has an American visa so they used that as a transit visa. I still think BA has the obligation to tell the passengers when they book.

I knew it was a transit visa, UK left EU and Schengen visa doesn't work in UK, always connect via Spain to italy

Changing terminal is always is a must to have a transit visa 🤦🏽‍♀️that’s must be the worst thing can ever happen, but I would definitely search before booking, you should have flown with Ethiopian
