·6h ago Mass protests have erupted in Los Angeles following President Trump’s latest immigration crackdown. Trump deployed 2,000 National Guard troops to the city on Friday and Saturday, as demonstrations gathered on the southern outskirts in response to aggressive immigration enforcement. Tear gas and smoke were used by authorities to disperse the crowds. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, speaking to media on Saturday, accused California’s Democratic leaders of having “completely abdicated their responsibility to protect their citizens.” “The Trump Administration has a zero-tolerance policy for criminal behavior and violence, especially when directed at law enforcement officers doing their jobs. These criminals will be arrested and swiftly brought to justice. The Commander-in-Chief will ensure the laws of the United States are fully enforced.” She added. The protests follow a sweeping immigration campaign launched at the start of Trump’s second term, led by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The measures include the deportation of hundreds of Venezuelans to El Salvador as suspected gang members, along with new restrictions on foreign students. In a social media post on Saturday, Trump warned that the federal government would “step in and solve the problem, RIOTS & LOOTERS, the way it should be solved!!!” #10newsfirst #trump #US #immigrationprotests

·5-31US President Donald Trump was unimpressed when a reporter asked him a “nasty” question about a new phrase called ‘TACO trade’ on Wednesday. The term stands for ‘Trump Always Chickens Out’ and has reportedly been coined by Wall Street analysts to describe the way Trump threatens or imposes a tariff, then backs out. When asked about it, Trump called it "the nastiest question" and went on to list several examples of what he implied were positive trade discussions, including with China and the EU. “You call that chickening out?” he said, before snapping at the reporter for using the phrase. ·5-29President Donald Trump has suggested Harvard University should lower its cap on foreign student enrolment and needs to show the administration their current list of students from other countries. Trump said at the White House on Wednesday, “I think they should have a cap of maybe around 15 per cent not 31 per cent.” “We have people who want to go to Harvard and other schools, they can’t get in because we have foreign students there,” he said. The statement comes as Trump crackdowns on some of the United States’ most elite universities, accusing them of failing to combat antisemitism. #10newsfirst #trump #harvard #harvarduniversity
